My quest to find the perfect ebike for me continues...

Test rides:
Furo X... too fast and V expensive
Coyote Connect... too noisy
Pulse ZL.. lovely to ride but not enough oomph.. only 3 levels of assistance
Batribike Omega, not enough power
Ezego Fold... good, probably fave but prefer Step Through and not hub gears
a EBCO M35... beautiful bike to ride but chain came off and display was hard to read... though sailed up hills!

So I’ve learned a lot and now know what I want/need

Step through frane
Hub gear
Minimum 5 assistance l
LCD display, the bigger the better
Plenty of oomph as my knees are useless

Want to spend around £1000... any suggestions? I’m Midlands based and need to try before I buy so needs to be max of 2 hours away... thanks in advance

Oxygen S-Cross ST. You can get them from Severn Valley in Telford. It's a lovely bike, praised by forum members, but no hub gears. Why do you want hub gears? Derailleur gears are trouble free.

Thanks. When I test rode the EBCO yesterday I couldn’t change gear fast enough for the hill, so got that clicking noise and lots of clanking. Have hired E-Bikes in France for the last 2 yrs and live that you can change gear whilst stationery.. just seems so much easier

We got a 2nd hand Motus (step-through hub) for just over that. Only 4 assist levels (eco, tour, sport and turbo); I find that enough with torque sensing. There are a couple of similar on ebay now, search 'electric bike cx performance', though they look a tad expensive.
