Hi everyone

Would appreciate some advice. I have a 3+3 mile commute but a decent gradient for the last mile or so. I can't manage this on a normal bike and so walk the last bit as it's quite steep.

Frustratingly my employer hasn't removed the £1000 cycle to work cap. I'm in two minds on whether to buy a second hand bike such as a gtech for £500 or spend £1400-1600 on a whoosh / whisper / cube. I can't seem to find any decent new ebikes for <£1000 - my employer uses Vivup for their cycle to work scheme and uses Evans cycles as a supplier.

Any thoughts appreciated!

Thanks

There are plenty of good electric bikes for a lot less than £1000 on Ebay. A Gtech isn't going to be much good on hills unless you get the MTB one with gears at a knock down price.

All the bike shops will let you top up the voucher, including ourselves.
I would suggest the new Woosh Camino for your commute. It has a range about 50 miles on a full charge.

Frustratingly Evans cycles won't top up the voucher. Is there anyway we could purchase with you via Vivup?

I don't know, it's Hatti who deals with the cycle to work vouchers.
I'll ask her on Monday when she gets back to work.

Fantastic - keen to know if can use our cycle to work scheme with you, and if so would place an order asap. Look forward to Monday

they have arrived but not assembled. About a week.
although one issue is I am 5ft 6... it looks as though I’m too small!

I would recommend the Rio MTB for your height.

Hi Tom,

Sorry for the delay, Mondays are always busier than any other day in the week.
I have passed on your question to Hatti.
Hopefully, it will be sorted out by the end of the week.

Hatti has started the process of registering with Vivup, we are waiting for their decision.
