I've mentioned in other threads, always always buy good quality battery packs.
Like the guy in the video, I am NOT sponsored by EM3EV, but they make extremely high quality battery packs, with safety being their top priority.

Don't go cheap on yer battery packs peeps!

That's good advice, but I'm not convinced that the fire in the video was caused by a faulty battery. The guy had two batteries in parallel and lots of extra wiring and switches all stuffed into a bag. All it takes is a wire to touch.

Yeah, a bit of a cowboy DIY set-up IMHO. I keep it simple, with short runs of adequately rated wiring, proper connectors, or properly soldered connections, and adhesive lined shrink tubing where required.

.... and definitely none of that wiring two batteries in parallel nonsense o_O

I fully agree. KISS. The simpler you make it, the lower the chance of problems.
