E-bikes are banned from London Tube and rail services because they keep catching fire

TfL bans most e-bikes on trains amid concern over igniting batteries
Only folding models will be permitted on London Underground, Overground, Elizabeth Line and DLR trains from 31 March

BA and ACT respond to non-folding e-bike ban on London public transport

Great, I can still use my converted folder in London then. Nearly all delivery riders I've seen use MTBs with dinner plate XkW motors and suspiciously UPP-recall-ish looking triangular batteries, plus another downtube battery over the top of the frame. I don't see many delivery riders using folding bikes, but when I have they have been fat tyred 350W or 500W hub motored. Folding bikes have exploded into flames too.

He blew the bloody Dawes up.

At 0:16, you can see that there's a battery in a bag suspended from the frame of a typical folding bike.

Mental, so London is flooded with rental ebikes that don't fold but you cannot take them on public transport  ....bit of a joke no? Loving the joined-up policy....

Starmer is fckd anyway, the NEC have realised they can't win another election with him and are already planning a replacement...I fckn hope it's not the burgundy tramp who enjoys kicking the disabled with her new gear on...disgrace of a human being.....tory cnts all of them!

Why does TfL think non-folding e-bikes are more of a fire risk than folding e-bikes?
"TfL went on to say that it was “not aware of any reports of foldable e-bike fires in London.”

Nobody takes rental eBikes on the tube. What would be the point of lugging a rental bike all the way down then all the way back again when you can just pick up another rental bike at your destination?
If people really did take rental eBikes on the tube they could just make an exception for them as they are easily recognisable,

It's a Dawes Arc ebike? With a second battery bobbing about in a bag for whatever reason. What are those two square objects exploded off when he blew his bloody Dawes up? Wooden shims to stop the battery bobbing? If I saw a folding bike like that on the train, I'd beat a hasty retreat at the earliest opportunity.

I didn't specifically say the tube did I, I've seen a lot of them on the Overground though...

Perhaps those dudes are saving a booking fee of about 50p to £1 each time, rather than ditching the bike to trip people over and rehiring? There are booking fees on many app based services. It might also demand a 20% tip? Damn these machines.

Public transport. Why would you get on a bus if you have an ebike, makes no sense and defeats the purpose of having a bike....? What are you on about?

Overground is different matter....try riding a hire ebike from Rotherhithe to Shepherds Bush, I'll time you...
