E Bike Recommendations

Hello All,

A newbie but an oldie here! I have been a silent lurker for a while. I currently own a G Tech Sport which I use to commute, I love it.

However due to COVID I will be spending more time in the Caribbean. I live in a nice gated area in Jamaica with nicely tarmac'd roads. Its very quiet. I would love to have an electric bike over there. I would purchase another G tech BUT as I will technically be on private land and in a country with no strict EU restrictions I want something that can get faster, 20mph assistance is up my alley.

A big thing for me is the understated look, I dont really like ebikes with the big battery that sticks out the frame, g tech pulls it off because it looks like a bottle lol.

Can you you please give me some recommendations, my budget is 1000-2000. 2000 being the absolute max.

Requirements:

No buldging external battery
Hybrid/road bike
Assistance up to 20mph or more
budget 1000-2000

Surely, it would make more sense to buy one when you get there, then you won't have all the inconvenience and expense of transporting it, plus, there will be no VAT and the bikes there will be free from EU regulations.

What about getting it fixed? You're going to need a local supply of parts and someone to sort it out if something goes wrong and you can't do it yourself.

Getting the bike there or back to the UK will not be any hassle, I solely require recommendations

Hi my recommendation is the woosh Faro internal battery. Lightweight fast running road orientated and easily pushed past the 15.5 mph restrictions. I believe the parameters can be altered to run above the eu reg speed, though I don’t believe this needs the modifications.
