E-bike innovator & entrepreneur (or at lease wannabe...chuckles)

I need various lengths of 2.25mm diameter (12 gauge?) heavier spokes for hub motors. Know a source?

  • I know the name of an e-bike spoke supplier

  • I know an e-bike enthusiast machinist who can modify existing spokes by rolling longer threaded area

Hi New Friends!
I am an e-vehicle enthusiast, alternative sustainable technology activist and entrepreneur. I am a Vietnam era vet, went into the NAVY at 17 all gung ho & rah rah America. By 19 I could see through the Vietnam BS (the Vietnamese were simply revolting against the French Imperial rule), and I declared myself a Conscientious Objector while in the service, yet I continued to serve honorably and even was promoted to 3rd class Petty Officer. Upon my discharge I used my GI Bill to go to college. I got hired out of college & I am a "retired" Senior Engineer IV from McDonnell Douglas, St. Louis, moved to Az by MDD in 1990, and in '99 Boeing bought MDD.
I am one of those non-graduate engineers who started as a draftsman while in college, and as soon as they discovered I could actually design fixes for problems, I had so much work, there was no time left for classes.
I drive a 2013 Ford Focus EV, which I absolutely adore despite its limited range. When I drive "reservedly" I have achieved a "Budget" estimate at the conclusion of recharging that registers 92 miles range. Conversely, when I drive on the freeway or drive "decisively" (like, in a hurry) a lower range "Budget" is achieved and my personal worst is 62 miles. The computer monitors your driving style to give you an estimate of the range. The AC, wipers, radio and other equipment is run off the 12 Volt battery and does NOT significantly affect mileage range....(contrary to anti-EV "expert" pundit's propaganda & overt BS). My EV is deliciously smooth & quiet. My main reason for buying it is environmental responsibility. #2 reason is social responsibility; no-one needs to die in the Middle East so I can buy gas. A very small portion of my discretionary income goes to support OIL WARS.
I also bought out the Scottsdale Golden Motor Distributor's warehouse inventory of e-bike KITS and Parts in 2013. So I have been "playing" with converting bikes & trikes for people....As I prepare to bring a few of my own design e-vehicles to market. My concepts include a semi-recumbent e-drive tadpole tricycle with a body shell over a chassis tub. You can check out my website at www.ERV1.com for photos and my propaganda!!
I am also the proud owner of an Avid Flyer STOL Experimental aircraft, which I AM converting to electric drive. Plus a Mitchell Flying Wing Motor Glider...also destined to be e-drive. Next I have a 1950s era MGTD fiberglass replicar on a VW chassis which I'm converting to electric drive. And I own a 28' Cabin Cruiser & 34' Motorhome, those may become electric drive and the motorhome solar powered in the future....if I live long enough!! I am 70 years young, defeating cancer, unmarried, and committed to building my "projects"!! 15). ERV Development Collage II.jpg
