Hi,
I have a gravel bike that I’m considering adding a Bafang mid motor kit I’m looking at the 750w because of cost, has anyone added one of these to a drop handed road bike or should I just buy a secondhand upright bike

That looks like what I’m after will this help me get up hills. Pardon my ignorance but are the Bafang 750w not toad legal? What power does this output as I’m a heavier rider

Only legal motor whether hub or mid drive is a 250w rated /marked drive.
750w is not legal and if fitted to a bike takes it into light moped class.

It is legal in parts of the former colony of America.

The 48V TSDZ2 has 30% more torque than the more polular 36V TSDZ2.
The 48V TSDZ2 is good for up to about 22st.

I see in your instructions it says you cannot use a cable guide, how did you route yours
I spent half and hour filing down the cableguide to about 4mm tall. It's a pita and it still sticks a bit. I may make a replacement cableguide for the TSDZ2 when I have time. For the moment, just remove the derailleur's outer cable and replace it with a new one, running over the bottom bracket. We can give you some if you need it. Just ask when you order.

Nice looking bike - I'm in the process of fitting a Woosh kit to my touring bike right now. I only recently came across the concept of gravel bikes fairly recently but they strike me as what hybrids tried to be when they first came out - something that was all things to all people - good for distances on road, commuting and potering along canal tracks. Before hybrids were invented we just used touring bikes of course! Now touring bikes almost never seem to come with drops but look just like hybrids whereas if you get a gravel bike and stick mudguards and a rear rack on, it transforms into a traditional drop bar tourer!

I have vintage 22mm drop handlebars which are the same diameter as straight bar bikes so it's hopefully going to be easy to fit the controller to. If modern drops are thicker than straight bars, and controllers are designed with straight bars in mind, how do people generally fit the controller to drops, other than with a handlebar extension?

I got a Tongsheng TSDZ2 kit from Woosh fitted to my gravel bike, really pleased with it but only got ~200 miles on it so far. My frame doesn't have a cable guide under the bottom bracket but there's just enough space between the motor and the bracket to fit my hydraulic brake cable and sleeved rear derailleur cable.
