3BD1992C-CE87-4205-93EB-FE72C2FF9FFC.jpeg This part came with my @KwikFold Xite 3. Where does it go. I cannot see this fitted to any of the Xite 3 bike photos i’ve seen on their website. It looks like it has to be fitted with two cable ties. I am guessing it’s a chain guard?

I had one on my old 'Universal' pedal cycle in the 90s.
It is to protect the bottom chain stay in top gear, mine was glued on.

It originally was a part made by shimano and was called a shark fin for obvious reasons
It’s as all ready said a chainstay protector nothing more nothing less
The shark fin piece was designed to stop the chain getting jammed up between the chainstay and the tyre
It used to be held on with double side sticky pad and 2 cable ties each end hence the holes and channel each end
