I wondered if anyone had a KTM ecross p and wouldn't mind giving their thoughts on it. There isn't much informing on the web about this particular model. Quite a bit about the erace p but I think the gearing is a bit short for commuting on the mtb style

Thanks

Hi I have just bought the KTM Sport plus 10-400 and have only been out a couple of times on it, there are some very steep hills where I live in
County Durham and fortunately this Ebike has no problem getting up them , I passed about 6 racing bikes on a steep hill the other day
And in a very quick time I was at the top of the hill over a mile long
Which took no effort at all.
This bike is great to ride and I wish it had come out a few years ago
I am sure the KTM Sport plus will be a big hit to all the cyclists who want to get out on the road without
Any exertion what so ever . One very happy cyclist....

That must be some machine, if you're not exagerating somewhat.

But, of course, nothing whatsoever like the Panasonic hub-motored erace p.

It is a Bosch one all bikes with Macina in title are Bosch! Why not test ride both Bosch and Panasonic system and see which you prefer.

Hi
New here and looking for an e bike. Currently have a Scott Aspect 29er tour and love it.
Been to visit emotion today in Swindon who has been very helpful.
Suggested a KTM e cross P which looks ideal for me. I like the idea of a higher number of gears than some models.
However does anyone have any info whether these can be derestricted? S switch approach would be perfect.
I will be using the bike one private land to get to some lakes I use so the extra speed would be perfect for that.

I tried the KTM e cross p at last year's Redbridge event and (imho) found it to be the best "climber" of the day in the MTB class even when compared to the Bosch powered bikes.
Excellent handling and comfort as well as a real feeling that you are on a quality machine.
It may be a bit pricey compared with the Kudos bikes (which when you compare actually do make a lot of sense in the value stakes) but personally, l would fork out extra for the extra grunt from the Panny motor.
I'm wait to save a few more pennies for a KTM e lycan which is also powered by the Panasonic.
As for speed... Easily quick enough but that's with pedalling as the gearing is spot on for my requirements as I only wanted assistance on the hills. Remember there is no throttle on this bike.

Am I right in understanding the Panny hub is pretty quiet when compared to the crank drives, eg Bosch and Impulse? Is there anyone here who have tried them out in this regard? thx.

It's quieter than the bosch for sure. You can feel the torque through the motor on the bosch. Feels bit like a twin or single cylinder against a 4 cylinder (motor bike) if you know what I mean.
Refer to my other thread under Electric Bicycles titles "Bike or Kit. I have confused myself"

We have the eCross in stock but I would imagine you are looking for member feedback rather than traders.
