Do you get the "nod"

Although e-bikes might be frowned upon and considered as cheating by the more sophisticated cyclist I have found that when I am out in my licra shorts and expensive Italian top I often get a nod from the fast boys as they pass (even with my not so cool helmet mirror and mudguards)..
However... If I am out in my England shorts and aldi top I become invisible, and nod as I might I am totally ignored!

I think in your lycra shorts and ialian top you probably go unnoticed as an electric biker, and are probably mistaken for a serious road cyclist.

Well irrespective of what I am riding or wearing I generally cannot be bothered nodding or saying hi to every cyclist I came across so really don't expect anything back nor for that matter care.

The only time it is different is when touring and then well coming across a fellow cycle tourist generally results in a stop and a chat.

I reckon you gets back what you gives.

I always acknowledge other cyclists, of all persuasions, and pretty much always get a return - anything from a flick of the head to a cheery wave.

Used to be the same for 2CV drivers, but now with the modern car design the individuality is gone, and so have the friendly waves.

I drove an ancient Mitsubishi Delica until last April (it gave up the ghost on the M25 and went down trailing smoke like a Heinkel) and cheerily issued and received a double flash of the headlamps whenever encountering a fellow Delica owner.

I definitely nod and smile at other electric bike riders, and there are loads of them down here in Sussex. Road bike types - well, you're lucky to get a scowl...

Whats 28KPH in proper moneyo_O. I did one of my hilly rides last night on full power all the way and averaged 16.8 MPH which is actually over the cut-off! Mindst you HR was up at 160:( so insurance payout for the wife on the horizon!!:) Only thing to nod at were the sheep, who incidentally are all lining up for a sheep's eye view of the the big race...

Phill it's 17.4 mph. And top whack today of 45 mph.
On six mile home run with 200 feet of climb.
It could be faster when I get an electric bike again.
Don't now the heart rate cycling but had an ECG with resting of 58 before I cycled home.

Oh! Without power! I dont do much of that these days.. My rides are 1000ft out of the valley, unless I dare venture out on the main road.. And I would need a very big/long hill to attempt 45 mph....
