Hi there,

I've converted my Voodoo Hoodoo bike using a Dillinger 1000w 48v 10ah rear rack battery kit. The battery is flightcase-enclosed and slides onto the rear rack and then locks in place. From what I can gather, the rattle is coming from the battery casing hitting against the rack sliding mechanism as there is a small gap.

Does anyone on here have the same kit and have the same problem? I've tried wrapping a bungee around both the battery and the rack which does help but still inst great. Would anyone have any ideas how to stop this rattling as it's driving me bonkers!

Thanks!
Jim

A bit of trial and error with some of those sticky back rubber feet for furniture may do the trick. Your local DIY store will have them in various sizes and thicknesses, available in sheets. Something soft between the metal parts is needed rather than just clamping down.

Good shout Kuorider, I'll do just that! Thanks!
Not the same kit, but my cyclotricity had the same problem. Despite many combinations of sticky pads/packing it didn't go away until...
I followed some advice from D8veh; you need to introduce a bit of distortion into the rack sliding plate. Take it off the rack, bend it slightly over your knee, and then re-attach. The distortion stops the battery holder from rattling as it takes up the slight slack in the battery slots. Hope that makes sense:)

I just cut a piece of rubber into a shallow wedge and fit after battery is locked in between the rack and battery, never makes a sound now :)

Exactly what I did and hasn't rattled since, great minds......
