Datatag Abroad

Now I will soon be collecting my first REALY EXPENSIVE eMTB in order to stay on the right side of the law in Switzerland and other EU countries. I plan to datatag it but no mention is made on their website as to whether countries other than the UK use such security. Anyone who takes their bikes abroad know anything?

Why do you need to datatag it for Switzerland? Only asking as I try to go there once a year, and have never seen or noticed any bike with datatag, but then I have never looked for it.

I plan to datatag it in the UK and was trying to find out if other countries in Europe were on the same database. I have relatives in Zurich, Quinten am Wallensee and St. Moritz. This year I hope to stay with friends from Pontresina who came to stay with me last summer by Inverness. I have been looking at youtube videos of trails in the latter area. Wish they had MTBs when I worked there in the mid 70's. Would have livened up my day's off no end!

My trips are always to the Jungfrau region, and even after over thirty years of visiting, I still haven't tired of it or seen it all.
