Some are more equal than others

I don’t see why two sets of laws won’t work, one for cyclist and one for everyone else.

Parliamentarians in Westminster can use creative accounting when inventing their own expenses, whereas we face the sack or the judicial system when we do it.

Here in Zurich I sometimes feel like the odd one out as I seem to be one of only a few people that stops at pedestrian crossing and red lights. Cyclist here seem to be a lot more aggressive than in the UK but then again motorist seem a lot less likely to return the aggression.

In one of the videos the BBC report seemed a little confused. He stated that the cyclist seemed not to know what side of the rode he should use and yet he pulled out onto the opposite side of the rode to overtake stationary traffic, which I believe is the legal way of doing this. Just goes to show that some of these 'cyclists breaking the rules' might be being misjudges.

I think the problem is that people (cyclists/drivers) are forgetting the art of defensive cycling/driving and are putting too much emphasis on aggresive practices. Perhaps a refresher course say every several years or so could help. The IAM caters for motorists - who would cater for the cyclist?

sounds a typical situation...bit like advertiseing cigarettes massively and then advertiseing massively again that smoking kills. dont do it !!...
