Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this (perhaps we need a dedicated forum now for CycleCharge discussions since it's been 100% funded by members...Russell hint hint)..
I've started carrying out some updates to the site over the weekend and just wanted to let people know.. I've fixed the registration problem so new Charge Points can be added again.
Charge Points now have their own dedicated pages/portal areas which can be viewed by clicking on the Charge Point name from the directory pages or just entering your Charge Point ID number in the following format:
Sunnyhills of Belford | North East
This is our latest Charge Point, SunnyHills farm at Belford, Northumberland (actually belongs to Funkylyn's sister).
The page is quite basic at the moment and I plan to do a lot more with it, but at least for now it provides all the relevant info and a map.
Charge Points can add photos to their page by just using the edit feature (click on MyProfile) after logging in, and then paste in a URL to a photo that measures 500 x 375 pixels). Sorry about the size constraint but it's necessary so you may have to resize or crop your image. If you need a way to host your images, try imgur.com or similar free services. Later on, I'll code an upload feature that automatically resizes images, but I don't have time at the moment.
Next I will add sponsorship ads along the bottom of the Charge Point page, and then a feature for visiting members to leave comments on page.
Oh and finally, I think a lot of members who registered haven't had their membership cards. If you want to request one you can at the following link:
CycleCharge - Project - Membership
Only request one if you plan to use charge points, else it will just create extra work and we're short staffed ;-)
Well that's all for now guys, except to say that we're planning a meeting (online) soon, maybe later in the week or next weekend, to discuss our plans for the next few months. Further promotion is planned and some letter writing/e-mailing to charities, government departments, newspapers, magazines etc. If anyone wants to attend the meeting or help in any way, feel free.
You can post your suggestions or ideas here too of course.
Once my Mezzo bike conversion is finished I will be out leafleting around Worcestershire, weather permitting ;-)
