There are only four components we need for this scheme........funding ,publicity, chargepoints and members to use them.

Due to very generous support from you guys we are now up and running with funds to cover our costs for now.........just lol.

The stickers are professional and the printed info sheets are looking great.

The crucial thing we have to concentrate on now, for getting Cyclecharge rolling, is if all interested members of Pedelecs can register as a member....so you will be able to USE these chargepoints..... and arrange to get their membership card sent out to them......details of this is onsite.

Then.....the hard work...we need Chargepoints (obviously ! ) in as many different locations as possible.
If every member took it upon themselves to approach just one potential chargepoint site we will soon have a functioning network available for us all to use.

Thats all......just ONE each folks ( if its 20, even better ).....we have over 5000 members on here and if only a tenth are active thats still a lot of potential chargepoints can be signed up.

Paul has a great map which will be live onsite within the month where everyone will be able to view chargepoint availability in the area they are interested in........meanwhile if we can all try to get as many businesses online as possible, info sheets are available on the CC site to download, then we will all soon be reaping the benefits.

Any ideas individual members have for publicity will be great..(within reason  )....
just do it !!

If you dont feel like taking up a position on the high street ! .... like Alan......thats fine.....a word in some likely businesses ear is every bit as good....just as long as we get them to join.
Your local coffee shop, farm shop, bike shop, B&B, Campsite, PUB ( with or without piano lol )......whatever.....lets use our imaginations and get going.
Meanwhile we will also be working on newspaper publicity at a local level and Paul is contacting high profile energy suppliers etc.

Please can I ask you all for as many ideas as possible .....we need and welcome more input.
We are doing the best we can at the moment but some fresh blood would be great :D

And just think how nice it is for new members and us all, to read about something positive and good for all us ebike enthusiasts .......sort of like a nice fresh breeze blowing the cobwebs of last night away.....;)

Thanks everyone,

Lynda :)

I'd just like to thank you all for your sterling efforts in getting this off the ground. I've already contacted one establishment and the owner was very keen to get involved and she emailed me to say she had registered with the site. The establishment is the Parkhead Station on the C2C between Stanhope and Consett - a great place for anyone to stop off at while touring around here - even if not cycling!

If anyone has any problems logging in (forgotten username or password) there is a now a reminder link below the login form on every page. You'll find some more help on that page link.

And just a quick reminder that Charge Points can create their profile (after registering) by visiting this URL:

Hi Alan,

It is working OK with Google Chrome on the Mac and with IE9 on Windows.
Can you try with a different browser?

Hi Alan, I will look into this for you and try and find out what the problem might be. It should work fine in Chrome as the site is powered by Nucleus CMS which is a matured product, well developed and tested on most Web platforms.. I will try it on my Windows laptop though to be sure.

Could you tell me what version of Chrome you're running, and also describe in a bit more detail the type of error.... is it a blank page/site unreachable error... or can you actually see the website but can't login?

Thank, probably safe to assume Chrome is ok then. There was a slight glitch earlier when I was doing some updates and the site was unavailable briefly a few times due to a url redirection problem on the Web server..so I'm wondering if his browser/PC has cached it somehow..it's possible maybe, will know more when he describes the error.

I have tried to get in to the site with Internet explorer and got this message :

Oops! Internet Explorer could not connect to CycleCharge - The UK's E-Bike Battery Charging Scheme
Try reloading: www.*cyclecharge.*org.*uk

Additional suggestions:
Access a cached copy of www.*cyclecharge.*org.*uk
Search on Google:

Same error message as I get with Google chrome. Could it be my internet security blocking it? I don't know.
Very interesting! Sounds like a DNS error. Try this... www. cyclecharge. co.uk
