It's good to see the council has stood firm against this ridiculous proposal.

If any organisation wishes to have parking for it's users, they should buy space and provide the off road facility for that, just as supermarkets and many other businesses do.

Roads are for travelling on, there is not and never has been any absolute right to park on any road. Accordingly the police have the power to order any parked car to be moved at any time if they consider there is a reason to do so.

I'm surprised that nobody suggested that they cycle to prayers instead of using cars.

Problem is if they get a concession to park at night they then will do so during the day, heartedly agree with d8veh they should be told on their bikes .

I do most of my cycling at night so, looks like I'll have to take up praying.

In a decent country they would be told, no, this is a highway and cannot be closed for private reasons.
