Since it's a front motor bike, safest to choose a wired one, since a wireless one can suffer interference with the brushed front motor close to the pickup sensor.

I like the Cateye Velo ones, the model 5 gives the basic readings, the model 8 adds average speeds and some other extra features. Both are stocked by many bike dealers and are reasonably priced.

Any one will do, but not a wireless one (like Flecc says). They're all exactly the same to fit. The Tescos, Aldi and Lidl ones aren't bad for the money. Cateye is better. Some of the more expensive ones have a lot more functions that you probably won't use, so have a look what they do. If you have a spare £110, get a Cycle Analyst.
They're all now the large screen version if you buy direct. The Cycle Analyst Homepage - Ebike Amp-Hour and Watt Meter
As well as speed functions, they show all the electrical information about your battery, power, etc. There is a small bit of wiring you have to do to put a sensor in your battery wires. Here's a picture of mine:

The Sigma's have a good clear display. I believe the Aldi ones are Sigma with a less clear display and different case.

Did you get one?

Cateye

I've had lots and one thing I would tell anyone from my experience is don't buy cheap ones ( £5/6 ) on eBay as they are ok untill it rains and on one I achieved 99mph??? Not bad eh???,I have a Cateye Wireless now and have ridden today and other days in torrential rain with no probs, but this is a brand spanking new one as I knocked the old one off 2 days ago and the only car on the road ran over it ??? So another £26 in Go Outdoors??. :(
