I've been cycling around Northampton for years but only recently noticed while crisscrossing the M1, each bridge I use (main road or country lane) there's a small pice of orange tape tied to the railings.
So far it's been on 4 out of 5 bridges I've crossed & on the 5th bridge it was attached to a new wooden fence adjacent to the railings.
This is not a new thing, I seam to remember seeing them last year if not before that, it just this year that I've gotten curiouse.
They are always at the end of a barrier but not consistently at the same end or over the same caridgway, north or south bound.
Dose anyone have a clue why they are there ?
Here's one I saw earlier, you may need to zoom in to see it, depending on your screen size.
