July 17, 20169 yr http://avs-racing.com/index.php/en/ save ur fingers if you splat one and stop the brake levers hitting them in case of a crash. bell no good these days as most wired in to head phones on phone. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/181898054002?lpid=122&chn=ps&adgroupid=27377119746&rlsatarget=aud-168805811586%3Apla-181479828066&adtype=pla&poi=&googleloc=9045572&device=c&campaignid=620794543&crdt=0
July 18, 20169 yr Author I did chuckle when you pinged yer bell at the bin Some folks, for reasons unknown to me, get upset when you ring your bell. Any idea why? If they don't hear the music, I like to have 'options'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNtEJ2RZzWg
July 18, 20169 yr Some folks, for reasons unknown to me, get upset when you ring your bell. Any idea why? If they don't hear the music, I like to have 'options'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNtEJ2RZzWg People who would get upset at the the inoffensive sound of the ping of a bicycle bell, would likely get upset at any warning of your presence. Maybe change your music to some thrash metal.... see how they respond to that.
July 19, 20169 yr I have an Air sound horn, which unbelievable, sometimes does not clear the way, I don't use it on cycle paths unless I have to,when I have tried warning by voice modulation, ( 'Scuse me),flick of brake levers,or crunch a gear change,,,... should that not work then they get 115 deb of air horn! Bells whilst polite, are ineffective. The airZound horn saved me being swiped by traffic several times, worth the money!
July 19, 20169 yr Author Yeah, I have horns on my other bike and my mushing scooter too. German shepherd dogs also do a good job of alerting others of your presence. Although, some wasters go out of their way to try and step into him and make a point because he is running loose. Their implication is that he's not under control, no doubt. He's always under control, don't need to be on a lead for that, and he sidesteps them with ease, sidesteps attacking dogs and even Police officers and just goes about his business of getting a good run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYzb5ymm8Ps Edited July 19, 20169 yr by LeighPing
July 19, 20169 yr Author Aha! I was wondering why almost every person I pass was head down on their phones, oblivious to the world around them. This is occurring a lot when I ride around my local country park, which is 900 acres, about 3.5 miles from one end to the other. It seems that they're on some 'Pokémon go' hunt, earning level up points. Well I hope they hurry up and find the tw*t, before someone gets run over.
July 19, 20169 yr I often ride on a cycle path that is mixed. It was never going to be a good idea and pedestrians never look at signage so they often don't know that it is mixed. There is all ways a nice chap around with a kind word for the "bloody cyclists on the footpath" who is then very embarrassed when someone points out that it is also a cycle path. I never say it myself, the shame is much worse when it is another pedestrian who points it out...
July 19, 20169 yr Author Hooray!! The dog is back! I've got all manner of doggy videos. You can always go to my youtube page to see them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJATvBLOY30
July 19, 20169 yr Phew.....misread the title and didn't see the second "d". Thought I was on the wrong forum.
July 25, 20169 yr Author Almost everyone I passed was on their phones yesterday. Pokémon hunting, bikers and all. I was constantly ringing my electronic bell. The battery won't last long at this rate. Thankfully, there's an integrated metal bell on the brake handle for back up. Chasing Pokémon must be a good way to get some fresh air nowadays. Maybe I'm just getting old!
July 25, 20169 yr You haven't tried riding your bike in St Jean de Luz between the 14th of July and the 15th of August I am still scratching my head about "crowds" after looking at your video...
