I am installing a new Chinese controller (36v 250W) in my old Powabyke Shopper. I had it all wired up (loosely connected) and going but foolishly let the wire from the controller which acts as the ignition switch (blue wire) short against the earth wire from the battery. I am not sure that this is what happened but there was a quick spark from that direction and nothing works now and the ignition side from the controller which previously showed 40V is now dead , in short (forgive the pun) have I killed the controller ? I can prise it apart and have a look but I'm not good with electronics. I can order another from China , they are cheap enough but take ages to get here.

Are there any fuses anywhere?

Only in the power pack and that fuse is OK. There may be one in the controller if I can get it apart but it's not screwed together just plastic welded.

Afraid I know nothing about the innards.

There might a quicker supply that all the way to China. I just bought a kit and a battery from pswpower, nominally a Chinese company I think, but with EU depots. To halfway up Scotland only took 6 days, which is about the same as the post!

Thanks for that. I managed to pry the controller open and can't find any fuses. So I guess that's it. I looked at Pswpower but they don't do one in 36v 250w brushed. I have ordered another from ALI in China but eta is 4th March. Just have to wait and be more careful next time!
