Hi all just need a bit of help I have a Apollo transport folding electric bike pre 2019 I think and my controller display is broke pictures below
IMG_0286.jpegIMG_0285.jpeg
This is what was rolling around in the unit tried to fix so order new unit off Amazon
Hopbucan Electric Bicycle Display JN Controller Panel S810 LED Display Waterproof Electric Bike Ebike Accessories,24v
The write up says suitable for jn controller and that is it
So I have plugged it in and have power to display and works when pressing the assist buttons butthe motor does not kick in so my question is can I do something about this or have I got a incompatible part and require a new controller or a Apollo unit which is going through halfords and waiting forever and paying double .

also is there anyway of fixing the old display in the picture as I had it powering up without the blue thing but put a bit of solder on it and it stop powering up is there anywhere to send it to

new to these bikes to fix and forums help will be top

Some controllers can be run without a display-i/o without pas and only throttle control ie not UK road use compliant,
by shorting/connecting the red battery voltage wire with the blue lock wire. - while the pic above shows the 'right' coloured wires.. that is still no guarantee.

The display and controller 'talk to each other, so need to have a common programming, this is usually resolved buying both controller and display together, And can complicate replacing a damaged display. multiple rebranding sellers will offer bikes using the same controller display but with different 'message/data formats' so if your original bike seller is not stocking replacement display units, and an ebay punt has failed to work.. either buy the matching controller for your new display or buy a new matched pair.

The first photo is too fuzzy to see what it is. Did you not look at it before posting?

Most bikes will work on level 1 without the control panel if you join the red and blue wires. The control panel joins those two wires electronically when you switch it on, then it communicates with the controller through the green and yellow wires to tell it which power level to give.

How did the control panel break? is there any other damage anywhere? If the red wire gets shorted to the green or yellow, you can wipe out both the control panel and controller. Is there a chance that that happened?

The blue thingy looks like an inductor for which you could find a replacement (labelling too blurry to be sure). Be careful not to short anything while soldering it.

Hi
Th bike fell over and when there was know power to the display I took it off and heard the rattle everything looks good and all wire connected new panel has power but no assist can not hear the motor and don’t feel the push when changing assist setting
So would your thoughts be new controller to match the Amazon power display or a full set up controller and display
And here’s a better photo of the little blue thing

It's a surface mount 1 milihenry inductor:

It looks like your control panel is a digital one using the green and yellow wires for comms. There's about a 50٪ chance of a replacement not working. Cost is £7.29.

A replacement controller with the same function is £21

A cheap controller with LCD but has similar function to yours is about £35, and a KT one that will improve the function of your bike is around £60.

Any replacement controller will probably need adjustment to one or more connectors, which involves soldering. You have to look at the pictures and compare with yours to see how much.
