very smooth camera work..where is straight on one, mounted? you need a chat with my DJ son re music though....

My Contour Roam being wide angle still picks up my glasses and eye brows (when mounted on headband). have not worked out what to do about that yet.

What a great piece of film.It captures the very essence and spirit of riding a bike. I was trying to guess which month it was filmed. I would say probably early September. Must have been a warm day; Bare arms and no gloves. Loved the shot of the suspension fork doing its job. You obviously live in a good area for cycle paths. As regards your choice of music, I think you do well to play anything on that synthesizer whilst riding at 16 MPH...

Looks like a nice place to have a bike. I've got a couple of questions: What camera were you using? and where are the hills? I'd love to go as far as that and not climb a big hill or two or three or more.

Brilliant vid Blew it!

I actually live in Swindon, you got near my house at one stage when you were at Bruce Street Bridges and the new B&Q.

I never knew there were so many cycle paths.

Is there a cycle map available anywhere?

I haven't actually got my bike electrified yet, still not decided which kit to get but I am leaning towards Cyclotricity kit because they sell it in the electric bike shop in Gorse Hill.

Definitely hope to get it done by springtime and get out and explore.

Bloody Xmas to pay for first though.

VERY nicely done, blew it:

Particularly liked the rear-brake-turn transitions, almost like you had 2 cameras.....

BTW, You could have gained mucho bonus points if you'd taken out the Crumbly with the wheelie-walkie near the start

The footage was created over three days in the third week of September. The route was ridden four times, twice clock-wise and twice anti-clockwise....the four cameras recording 27 gigabytes of footage at 720P. The footage from the chest harness was very poor with a great deal of shake, but I have plans for a better way of capturing that particular POV.

I then had to learn how to edit, which was the hardest part. This is my first attempt at producing a public vid.....It leaves a lot to be desired, but we all have to start somewhere.

Thankyou for your kind words, very much appreciated.

....Is there a cycle map available anywhere?..
Hi Waspy,

Swindon is a great place for cycling with over sixty miles of traffic-free shared routes. More routes are added with each new development, it being a planning requirement to link into the existing cycling network.

There's only two hills within the borough, Lady Lane (12%) but it doesn't actually go anywhere. Blunsdon Hill (18%) but again, it goes nowhere. It's a good hill for testing systems....whizz down it at 40 mph and then turn round and clamber back up at 9 mph. The best way to figure out where the routes are is to use the cycle map in conjunction with Google Earth.

Please note: Some of the cut-throughs and short-cuts are not shown on the maps, these are unofficial "local conventions".

Swindon Cycle route map is available as a free hard-copy from libraries, the Tourist Information Office at Regents Circus ( if it's still there ). Or, next time you're at Emotion EVC, there's a pile of them on the leaflet table.

If you need any help with finding the routes, or with your conversion, then PM me for contact details.

The cycle map can also be downloaded in PDF format on the link below.

There are four cameras on the bike.

Veho Muuvi HD 10: chest harness and front fork POV.
Poseidon 720p: Rear POV
Drift 720: Handlebar POV
ACT 720: Rear suspension POV. (footage from this cam was not used in the vid...I forgot!.)

Some of the cams can record at full 1080HD, which creates huge files, so all cams were set for 720p 30 fps.

"Will somebody pleeease think of the editors"

Some time soon I'll cobble up a thread about the cameras

Regarding hills, see my reply to Waspy.

Regards
Bob

What are you using to edit the videos? I've got a cheap muvi cam thing but I don't know how to edit the videos.

Jeez, that was big girl at 12.10 Nice to see she's out and about.
Well, Dave, now I am in 'eating red meat mode' after the 'Lewis incident' in Abu Dhabi, I think that remark was offensive to all of us larger ladies.
