Cleaning Electric Bikes

I am about to clean my Agattu for the 1st time and boy does it need it, it is caked in dirt and filth after 800 miles.
I intend to remove the battery and cover the terminals on the bike with a plastic bag, then lightly hose it down to loosen the dirt and wash it with soapy water:eek:
Does anyone have any words of advice on the subject?

So your advice would be don't bother, just let the rain wash it clean?

John;)

If you want it to look its best, then do clean it. I don't think it would come to any harm from not doing so. If I were going to clean mine, I'd just give it a rub first with a dry cloth then a damp one, rather than more agressive treatment. However this is all theoretical as I am not claiming any expertise!

It won't suffer from plenty of water John, I always washed my Lafree with battery in, either with cloth/sponge and bucket or with gently flowing hose. Never dried off and never any problems.

I'd always start with water to soften the dirt on any paint finish to avoid scratches.

Thanks for that Flecc, thought it would be OK, it won't get any wetter than in a heavy rain shower and it is a great drying day. Just wanted a bit of reassurance.

Looks good John. There's no beating a quality bike's finish for the way they look after a wash.
