Checking phase wires

Featured Replies

Hi, all I have a sensorless hub motor with an intermittent stutter which I suspect may be down to the hub wires.

I have tested all three phases with everything disconnected, they are all around 0.5 ohms which I believe is ok.

The problem is when I test each phase if I move the wires slightly in different directions the resistance reading fluctuates wildly.

Could this be indicative of fractured wires?

All phases have continuity and no grounding.

Thanks in advance.

Could you give some details of exactly which motor and controller you have? Show photos if you can.

Does this happen with a pedal sensor and/or a throttle?

Quite possibly fractured wiring or simply loose connections IMHO.

Should be quite easy to isolate and repair.
