I bought a Cat Eye Strada wired computer with cadence read out, to help me keep my BBS motor in the power band. When I ordered the Strada I didn't realise how small the screen is, the speed reading on the top line is just about OK for my eyesight, but the bottom line is small. I found myself struggling to read it, I certainly can't read it at a glance. This was quite dangerous, ie. looking for the readout instead of traffic etc. I then started to wander if I could get the speed readout to show the cadence instead. As I have the speed reading on the C 961 display. I fitted the speed sensor where the cadence sensor had been & worked out that with the computer set to read in kilometers if you enter the wheel circumference as 1,667mm (or if your computer only accepts tyre sizes, the nearest tyre size is 20 x 1.75) The speed reading will be 6.0 kmph at 60 rpm & 7.0 at 70 rpm and so on. Just ignore the decimal point & you have your correct cadence readout. Had I worked this out before buying the Strada I could have just used any cheap wired computer, as long as it had a speed readout to one decimal place. It would also probably have a bigger screen as well. Please forgive if I am the last person on earth to work this out for myself.
