I have this to charge my 2S heaway 12ah cells with balance lead. I found out if I charge them with 2A it will come out VOL ERR after 10 mins of self checking. When I increase the amp to 4A it seems to allow to charge fine till the end.

Just wondering why it wont let me to charge them with low amp? of course I can disable the self checking but I want to make sure what I am doing is safe.

That's very odd

I get this error if I try to charge using a combo of amps/volts that goes beyond the ability of the psu to supply it

Could it be a settings issue relating to the voltage difference between lifepo4 and other lithium ?

Not quite sure what you mean by self checking ? Do you mean at the start where the charger checks the series ? Ie that you have chosen 2s and the pack reads like a 2s ?

Don't forget to set the charge voltage to 3.65, not the normal 4.2v.

I only use this charger for Headway cells. I have a thread about the booster pack using the diagram what dave gave to me

I chose 2s manually rather than AUTO.

That is odd. From the charger I choose LiFe and it shows 3.3

The finally voltage is 7.2v (2s)

Should I chose Lithium setting (3.6v) instead?

7.2V is 3.6v, which is about right for LiFePO4. The extra .05v to 3.65 won't add any capacity to the battery. I think it's used more by the BMS for balancing. Therefore, what you've done is correct. Don't change it.

I recently used my Accucell 6 to charge/balance a 2s pack for the first time (I usually always use it for 6s packs) and kept getting an error when trying to balance them. Turns out the 2s balance plug socket on the unit itself had a missing connection on one of the pins :(

Having looked on line apparently this is quite common and people end up having to add a connection or two. Quality control I guess.

Thanks Jerry.

It charges 2s for my headway ok just not gives me error if I use 2A to charge them. once I increase to 4-6A it is working perfectly

I read other forum saying I need to increase the charging current to avoid this error. This was how I sort this problem but I do not know the chemistry behind..

I'm still confused by this - Jerry's problem / common issue does not explain it. It would not work regardless of amps being delivered. Unless anyone else can say otherwise ?

It remains a head scratcher !
