Another said: 'the reason why i won't be buying one those Gocycles until it is made in this country giving us jobs. At the price it sells at there is no excuse to make it in poland.'
I wonder if Richard Thorpe of GoCycle is not connected to the Electric Brompton Project being developed.

Nice free promo for Woosh. A very definite result.

What is the GoCycle bloke on about? We are just about to come in line with EU regs and he says he can’t sell it there because of different regulation. Is it 350w for the US market? At that money I can think of many bikes I’d rather have than that anyway.

Don't underestimate the Gocycle. It's a very nice piece of kit. It's very powerful and fast, and has a lot of unique features like automatic gear-changing. You set the power profile using your mobile phone, so you can make it legal or illegal; however, I doubt that the EU has a problem with that because other EU bikes have that feature. I suspect the problems are more about irrelevant crash tests or something like that.

If you ever get a chance, have a go on a Gocycle. It's an absolute hoot.

As always d8veh is spot on here regarding the Gocycle.

They were at Redbridge a couple of years ago & are brilliant. Very comfortable & the geometry made it feel just like riding a full sized bike. Their appearance regarding the engineering & finish also looked a cut above.They dismantle & fold down in about five minutes. Probably ideal for the boat or caravan owner & commuters.

They also appeared to be very quick. Reading d8veh's comments now makes me wonder if they had their power profile turned up on the day?

You could be right Phill, although the one I tried certainly appeared comfortable enough for a regular commute.

I was thinking about a city commuter who may not have the space to store a full size bike.

I agree the Gocycle is a rich mans toy, it doesn't even begin to be practical or sensible.

If someone wants the convenience of single side support 20" wheels, the Giant Halfway has had those for years, and it really does fold. Fit a crank motor kit and chainguard and the result is well under half the Gocycle price and far more practical.

They started you off on a low power profile, then, if you asked them nicely. they turned it up to a fun level. Finally, if you kidnapped the guys wife and promised not to give her back, he would turn it up the maximum.
