Just on the off chance that someone may have an old one in a loft or garage, does anyone have a charger for a Curry kit? Mine has gone on the blink. It is for 24V SLA batteries and has a round 3 pin connector. The charger calls itself a Class 2 battery charger - model AC0224A. I will happily pay.

Thanks

No answers yet, and there don't appear to be any on ebay, so a couple of suggestions:

Electrodrive might have them reasonably priced new.

With the extremely favourable exchange rate at the moment (£ = $2.07 at mid-day), supplies from the USA are very competitive. The US specialist supplier Powerstream have a very low cost transformer based SLA 24 volt charger that translates to a bit over £6 ($12), the snag being that the cheapest postage will bring the total to about £23 ($43).

They have a better one as well with cheaper postage so it's not too much dearer in total.

The Currie 24V SLA charger is the same as the IZip 24V SLA charger so you could try www.electricbicycles.co.uk for a new one.
Alternatively, try EVdeals.com, Electric Scooters, Bikes, Parts! in the USA who seem to be a major supplier of replacement parts for Currie prodrives.
I analysed the charging characteristics of this charger and it is a cheap (it is basically an LM317 constant voltage=29.3volts, current limited circuit) charger that will shorten the life of any SLA batteries it is used on if not disconnected in time; if disconnected too early it will fail to fully charge the battery.
