Help! Changing throttle

Evening, I'm looking to change my throttle from a wuxing 130x to a 108x as the 108 looks to be more waterproof. My handlebar configuration needs a left hand throttle. I managed to find a left hand but not from my controller supplier (topbikekit only supply RH version of 108x).
When I connect the new throttle my KT controller gives a throttle error so for now I have unplugged and put the 130x back on. I suspect the wiring order may be different. Is there any way to identify the correct order? I'm reluctant to use trial and error as I don't want to blow anything.
The connectors are 3-pin Julet so I can't easily see any wire colours at the controller end.
I'm surprised that the same connector would be wired differently from another supplier.
I could use a meter on the pins in the connector from the controller but not sure what values to look for or if this is even possible.

Cut the connectors off so that you can see the colour of the wires, then solder them directly. You don't need connectors.

Julets use a std wire layout/orientation.
For the Yellow 3 pin male connector looking at pins head on Gnd /Black is opposite the little alignment indicator , White/ Sig is lhs and Red/5v is rhs.
Female looking at the pins head on is Gnd/Black opposite the alignment indicator, White/Sig is rhs and Red/5v lhs.

Double check and make sure one connector isn't a Higo.

8 fun is Bafang who use Higo connectors which are wired differently. You may have trouble finding a L/H 108x with a Julet plug.

That explains it then. The connectors still appear to fit together ok but are clearly wired up differently. Looks like time to get the soldering iron out

I've not tried it, but you could prob. rewire the one you have if you can open the throttle casing if you wish to keep the connector.

Is that with the alignment indicator top or bottom ??
