As long as you choose the right voltage and buy a pack with the BMS (Battery Management System) already built in, it's mainly a matter of arranging the connections. LiFePO4 cells are often a bit larger than the older lithium types so don't fit in your existing case, so you may have to mount the battery elsewhere such as on the carrier and arrange a box for the pack you buy.

You'd need a charger to suit, but some battery pack suppliers include the new charger.

This post may be of some help.

Thank's Flecc, thats of some help mate, but I am a complete novice, If I can fit it in my existing case, can I still use the same control box that the battery case fits on too,
Hope you understand what I mean,

Yes indeed Rob, that's the controller for the motor and as long as the battery voltage is nominally the same, it will be ok. You needn't worry about a tiny variation, 36 volts instead of 37 for example.

Be careful not to go for a pack that's too small just to get it into the case, since it's important that the pack is able to deliver enough current for the motor. What motor/bike do you have?

I only have a cheapish chinese import off e bay no 230476125678, it is my first venture into e- bikes, and really enjoying my new found freedom after suffering a heart attack in June,
Just wanted to know about battery for a later date,as i have been told the li ion batteries don't last to long,

Any 24/26 volt 10 Ah pack will be ok for that bike Rob. Current lithium batteries are better than they were a couple of years ago, so with any luck you may not need another battery for a couple of years. Since battery research and advances are continuous they may be a little smaller than present ones then and fit more easily into your case.

They may even be cheaper as well which would be welcome.
