Changed the rear sprocket of mine BH Easy Motion Volt :D

Hello,

First of all, I want to say a big thank you to Flecc. I PM'd him asking about my bike and possibilites and he explained it all. Kudos to this man.

I am new to this forum, just been lurking around after I recently bought a BH Easy Motion Volt with a 250W Panasonic. I loved the bike, but thought it was a bit low-geared, and after talking with Flecc I ordered a 16T rear sprocket for the Nexus hub. Original it was 20T.

I am happy to report that the bike now feels more right, due to the higher gearing. I can also confirm that the top speed has been pushed to about 34km/t (From my cycle-gps-app). It was an easy fix to change the sprocket, I did follow these two guides found on youtube:

Now the next project is to try out a 14T motor sprocket. It is currently a 12T sprocket equipped.

Thanks, one question though.

When I fit the 14T motor sprocket, is it enough to remove one chain link ?

You need to add a complete link if you replace the 12 tooth with a 14 tooth motor sprocket Jonas, assuming you'd already shortened the chain for the reduction of the rear sprocket from 20 to 16 teeth.

I now fitted the 14T motor sprocket and i like the feeling of the bike even more. The speed and acceleration is more than enough, so is the hill climbing. I now can make more use of the gears.

I have not checked the speed, or the battery capacity yet. But the battery has proved to be enough for my daily trips.

That's great Jonas, it must be quite fast now, assisting to around 35 kph.
