January 10, 201214 yr I had an incident with the entry barrier as I arrived at work today. It came down unexpectedly and as I ducked to avoid impact I lost control and toppled over! >.. It was very funny! ... The security man was very concerned (I think he is new) and pointed at the barrier saying "it's always doing that! " ... when I asked at the "command centre" if they saw the incident they missed me falling off but saw me sprawled on the floor (and then quicky jumping to my feet!) ... I asked if it was recorded but they didn't seem to know ... I'll go down again later and see if I can talk to the boss. If it is recorded do I have a right to the footage? ... I mean if I had hurt myself and wanted the evidence for insurance purposes etc .. then do that HAVE to let me have it? .... I hope so! ...
January 10, 201214 yr Glad it was funny rather than painful ! I'm pretty sure, though not certain, that if you really want/need to you can request the footage under the Freedom of Information Act (you'll get charged a tenner most probrably) cheers
January 10, 201214 yr Our barriers have a big "Cyclists dismount and use footpath" sign attached. Apparently cyclists are to small to trigger the sensor.
January 10, 201214 yr Author I think that could be right as someone at work also said that ... I've had an informal word so I am hoping my man on the inside will come up with the goods! ...

January 10, 201214 yr Brilliant, you never cease to amaze me how many little accidents or funny things you do. Brilliant!
January 11, 201214 yr Sort of quite funny. I saw something similar when a cyclist stopped unde my works barrier and it came down on his head. the guy was a bit of a loser, so we all had a bit of a laugh I'm ashamed to say. Unfortunately for you Kitchenman, there's a massive stop sign on the road and you didn't, so you get my sympathy, but don't ask me to be your lawyer when you claim. P.S. You need to help a few more old ladies accross the road. It might change your luck.
January 11, 201214 yr Mmm...should be a straightforward enough claim, probably enough to purchase a nice new 2012 Haibike......
January 11, 201214 yr Author Mmm...should be a straightforward enough claim, probably enough to purchase a nice new 2012 Haibike...... I had £80 for Christmas. I drew a circle in the middle and wrote £80 and then proceeded to draw spoke like lines and label them with all the things that I need or think I need! ... there were so many spoke lines I am no longer able to make sense of it! and consequently still have the money burning a hole in my glasses case ...
