Cassette removal -tool too short?!

I need to service the freehub on my ncm Moscow, the cassette isn't spinning freely. It spun the cranks and triggered the motor when I wasn't expecting. Bike slipped out of my hands and now I've got a bent derailleur hanger!

Any, came to take it off, but the lock ring appears to be deep inside the cassette. Any advice for taking this off or is it a case of finding a tool that can fit inside?

I had thought about taking the side of the motor off but I'm not sure if this is a sensible idea.

That looks like a DNP freewheel. I DNP freewheel tool will get it off, or any long-reach one with a big hole in the end for the axle. this is what the DNP one looks like:

I've got a DNP one you can have for £6 if you get stuck.

I had a similar problem and used an angle grinder to quickly make a tool from an old spark plug socket, very rough and ready with less projections but it does the job.
