HI guys

Im just starting to think about how im going to get my bikes around on the car. currently whack the seats down in the mondeo and chuck our carreras in the back. this isnt going to be feasible with the agattus given the weight so I need to buy a rear rack. I can just about get one rated to the weight of both bikes without batteries (45k ish). this will leave the boot free for the kiddytrailer.

I was just pondering this when I though ....... how do you hang a wave frame bike on a rear rack - anyone done it - its it secure or is it a non starter.

Regards
Paul

We use one for transporting a Powacycle Windsor. It works fine.
Our rack is the ride-on type - I wouldn't use it for a 'hanging by the crossbar' type

This is what I use for a diamond and wave frame Agattu minus batteries Thule RideOn 9403 Towbar Mount Cycle Carrier £98.99. Mail order cycle carriers and bike racks at skidrive.co.uk The price has gone up about £10 since I bought one and it does need 2 people to load the bikes safely. Althgough it will carry 3 bikes, 2 Agattus are just within the 45Kg capacity when the batteries are removed.

I'd go for a tow-bar for electric bikes. It feels much more secure than the tie-on type - and with £2000+ worth of Agattu on the back you don't want to take any chances!

think your right there Frank. it would be a big risk to do it any other way. I might just borrow my mums car which has a towbar fitted when the ned arises.

Thanks once again to all who responded
