Help! Carrera Crossfuse Hybrid e-bike

Hi, New member & a bit of a novice so would appreciate some help please.

I am planning to buy a new Carrera Crossfuse Hybrid E-bike as I have been out of the saddle for nearly 10 years & I really need to shed the pounds. I thought this bike would be a good choice to help blend back into it especially on the hills & have a few questions for you please:

1. I know the bike comes with a bit of a naff saddle so was wondering if it is best to buy a gel seat cover or change the saddle completely?
Either way I was wondering which are the best to buy - value / comfort etc?
2. Which are the best mudguards for this bike?
3. Can the battery / bike accept lights to be connected via socket or USB? If so are there any recommendations?
4. Does the bikes onboard controller unit also act as a computer & does it store data ie a log of all rides / distances etc?
5. Are the pedals supplied decent or is it best to upgrade? If so which would you recommend?

Look around posts on this site. That bike has some nice features for its price, but a very poor reliability record. The problems seem to have made it through even into the latest version.

In that price range you would be much better to go for a Woosh (http://wooshbikes.co.uk/), or maybe Juicy or Wisper (may be a little more expensive).

Not so. You are confusing the 'Crossfire' with the 'Crossfuse'. The former is plagued by reliability issues, but the latter uses a different electrical system that doesn't suffer the same problems.

That was the Carrera Crossfire not the Crossfuse which uses the Bosch ALP motor, I have had a Crossfuse for 18 months now and covered 1500 miles around the Peak District and it has been excellent,(1) I initially changed the saddle but eventually went back to it,(2) I got some cheap mudguards from Halfords, (3) not sure,(4)No it only stores the overall distance plus a each days distance if you reset each ride, (5) I changed mine for aesthetic reasons.

Easily done, probably not Halfords brightest idea just to change 1 letter for something that is totally different.
