Hi all

Mirrors have been discussed much on these boards but the answer - a mirrcycle doesn't work for me

Reason - doesn't work well on swept back dutch style bars as the mirror ends up under you forearm/armpit !

I've used a cycle aware view point (inside glasses) for some time but my eyes are not quite as good these days and the required near/far sudden switch in focus causes me issues

Any suggestions ? I've checked old threads - it's all about mirrcycles !

Thanks
Kirstin

You probably need the type mounted on an arm and clamped to the handlebar tubing. On this link the Raleigh chrome one may be suitable, and it's very low cost.

Loved that when it first came out, how to make something that is simple and effective into something that is complicated, less useful and expensive :)

It's a pity no-one's come up with a webcam that works with android phones - Many cyclists use their phones for navigating & mapping their rides, so would just need an ****-mounted button camera.

It already takes me a while to get moving when I'm off for a bit of exploring .....
:p
Map a likely-looking route on Viewranger (1:25000 maps of the area)
Input that into Copilot for spoken turn instructions (works well with my bluetooth earpiece - 16 hours talktime!)
Set both apps running & start BTmono, so I can hear the instructions
Start the act20 helmet cam (I don't seem to get squeezed past so much now, I think drivers see it on me 'at)

Setting up a rear camera too might just be entering the realms of geekdom :p

I does like me gadgets

Sounds like a complex solution to a simple problem!

Has anyone tried one of these B & M E-Bike mirrors ?

Busch & Müller E-Bike rear-view

There's a version with a clamp mount that may be suitable for 'comfort handlebars' (you select in the drop-down box) but can't find that version on sale in UK .. only place I could find here selling the handlebar-end ones was these guys :

POPIEL - Stylish Dutch bicycles - Gazelle Batavus Hub service Sparta Koga Miyata

Thought about getting one from the original link above, but the shipping is a bit much to swallow 'on spec' and product reviews seem very scarce ... even in German !
