September 24, 201411 yr I have a basic power controller on the handlebars that allows low, medium or high power when pedalling. The problem is, to turn off all power I have to hold the + button for several seconds, which is a right pain whilst cycling. Can I upgrade the unit so I can cut all power or would that require a new controller as well? If so, could anyone post a link please? Many thanks. Sorry can't post a picture at work but it's in this thread a few posts down: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/hello-and-help-please.18913/
September 24, 201411 yr Do you just want to cut power so that you can pedal without power? If so, it's dead easy to do. You can have a "standby switch" by cutting some insulation of a brake wire to expose the two wires inside, then solder a switch across the two wires. When the switch is on, it cuts the power to the motor. Here's a switch: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Handlebar-Motorcycle-Accident-Hazard-Light-Switch-ON-OFF-Button-GOOD-/131273777781?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item1e9086e275
