Can anyone suggest a decent battery re-builder in the UK please?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. A few years ago I had the original 36V battery of my Dawes Boost Suburbia re-built by a chap called Jimmy at ebikebatteries.co.uk. He did a great job, the battery is still holding up well. Unfortunately, he's apparently unwell now and out of action, and I have some bigger batteries from my Quazzar E-Divine (classic Vespa lookalike from China) that need re-building (72V)...

Any recommendations or personal experience gratefully received! Cheers.

Yep, mine is one of them :) Of the others, the two Brits sold up a while ago and the other chap is in Sao Paulo. Mine is the one running a non-standard Fardriver 72360 controller and display. I did ask about battery rebuilding there too, but no replies were forthcoming, sadly.

The underseat compartment holds two of those big green battery packs in the OP rather neatly side by side, which is why I want those rebuilt to 72V rather than trying to fit something else in there that won't use the space as well. I'd rather avoid Aliexpress batteries because, although they're cheap, you don't know what cells are in them.

I've just had my battery (Wisper 575) re-celled by the above. Got an extra 50 kWh as part of the job for £390. Happy with the cost and service (postage label for UPS included in the price), although not had a chance to use it yet.
