So I've had a few (nothing expensive) but none last for me either impracticable or terrible pictures or battery life . All I want are. the following features in case of accidents , not looking for 4k you tube vids just good enough . Can anyone help?

1. Simple operation (starts automatically when you start moving would be idea but should be nomore than a press or two)

2. Loops recording automatically when memory runs out

3. Relatively stealthy. I don't want a box camera inside a large plastic case surrounded by knobs and dials (like those early go pro and their sj400 copies)

4. Waterproof (well rain proof)

5. Runs off 18650 would be nice . If not lithium battery must be replacable

Any ideas ?

Go pro can't be beaten. You can get Hero 1s and 2s cheap now. Quality, robustness and ease of use are all great.

I was going to say exactly the same thing. I've got the 3. Its a point and click thing. What I would say is it doesn't have a zoom/focus feature and you might want to buy a screen for the back that lets you see what you're shooting.

You could always combine a new camera with a new phone though. The new Huawei Pro 20 is an amazing camera for stills and video. Shoots in 4k or HD you get 128gb storage plus you can add another 128gb more, you'll have problems trying to fill that up even if you shoot a film.

Great battery life too. will easily last the whole day or more even you spend most of it shooting.

@4k it will use 32gb every 1hr and it will also use the hole batt so @1080p it will use half of both so double the batt and recording time.

this is what i have but it has no image stabilisation.
