I bought a new battery and C500 for my electric bike a few months ago, because the display provided at purchase (3 years ago) failed. Since I installed these 2 parts, the power delivery has altered a lot. In power levels 1 to 3 in the display, the bikes power is the same as before. When 4 or 5 is selected only a small increase in power is noticed, and the noise from the motor changes only slightly. The Bike has a throttle slide that enables full power even when the pedals are stationary. This results in a power output to the wheels around level 3, and not level 5 as before.
In the User Settings "Menu 4.1.5 SET5: Voltage settings (36V/48V)" the window is blank and cannot be changed. Other people have mentioned this in other forums, and it seems to me this is not changeable and probably not a fault.
Does anyone know why this lack of power in levels 4 and 5 is so reduced? It is not worth going past level 3 anymore.

When I converted one of my bikes to a C500 display on a Lishui controller, I concluded that all C500 displays were not the same, and there were program differences depending on the source.

Thanks for your reply. I did talk to Yose about the C500, because the the original type that came with the Kit is no longer made. I was assured this C500 would work, and would work with the existing units and cables, but it hasn't.
The power drop in level 4 and 5 is a puzzle. I hesitate to change the motor to see if this is the solution.

The Yose C500 display that they sell separately is specifically for use with their 350w kits (Lishui 18A controller), although it will work with the controller in their 250w kits (JYT 15A), but not all settings are functional. What controller do you have now? What is the rest of the set-up (motor, cables,PAS etc.). Some photos would help.
As I learned by searching through this excellent forum, it is always best to buy displays and controllers (of any make) together as the firmware is specific to that particular pairing.

Changing the motor won't change anything. The motor is just a dumb transducer that converts the energy sent to it by the controller.

What's happening with the eco, normal, power setting that you set before each ride. Some C500s have that locked on normal, others are selectable. What do you have yours set to and can you adjust it? How does that compare with the old one?

All the parts I have bought are Yose to solve my display problem (large black line across the screen) and there CS said they would be compatible with my original kit. The controller, connected to the battery is the original. It should not be an issue. The motor is 350W, and all cables that came with the display are of course the same fitting. They are all a matching fi by the same Company, yet a drop off of power from level 3 is therefore surprising. My friend who built this for me, has the same controller and motor on his bike, and he is going to swap them over when he has time and see if he can isolate the problem. He is puzzled about the set voltage problem I described. No faults show on the display.

Why don't you answer my questions?

The controller and display purchased as a pair or part of a kit will be programmed to work together , sometimes buying separate parts such a sonly a display may work but if firmware or programming differs then one may be left a little underwhelmed as in this case. It seems it is lacking full functionality and could simply be down to the firmware.

We have seen it before with Lishui or other controllers when spares are bought. One reason why we recommend KT , I have yet to have a display not delive rthe goods it is meant to with any of the KT controllers.

The OP hasn’t said if he has adjusted any of the advanced settings. He has only mentioned the general settings.

It could be limited because the maximum current is set too low or one of the other advanced settings hasn’t been set up properly.

Maybe he's read the instruction manual now and figured it out.
