Just twist the gears, no gear to click into, unlike hub or deraileurs gears its smooth through out the range
My partner has one and a lot of people comment how it is much smoother than some of the more expensive models.
This one has come up for sale after only about 8 miles use due to illness of friend. She bought it for £1450 it is now £895 including courier charges.

Battery is 36v 10amps good for 30 + miles and is the lighter weight lithium type
