Buying an e-bike from US

Hi Guys,

It's a pleasure to be a part of this community!

Wanted to pick your brain on getting and e-bike from the US. I've been looking for a while and found no decent e-bikes for under 1K in the UK market. However been able to find a couple out there in the US and was wondering if anyone here on this forum can help import - maybe one of the traders?

Welcome. What particular USA models are you looking at ?
Dont wish to keep banging the drum but are you aware of the UK legal limit of 250 watt motor and 15.5mph assistance ?

No US bike will be 250w or EN15194 complaint.
Also you need to find out the US bike tariff and look it up on the HMRC imports page to see how much the import tariff will be, then add vat to the total price.

I am aware indeed. Being a bit of a techie I will be able to do some restrictive applications to the motor to make it compliant. It's just that nothing that I found in the UK has sensible value for money which is disappointing. I'm not happy to spend 1.7k for a bike unfortunately.

I was looking at things like: Aventon Pace 350, Lectric, Rattan, Qualisports, Rad Power...

Any recommendation for something of a decent build that can handle 110kgs+ and performance (decent torque models) would be highly appreciated!

Don't really have to have a fat tyre bike to be frank - just something solid that works well for under 1k
