I bought two battery packs from Hobbyking. One was bulging somewhat when I received it. Hobbyking quickly replaced it. I decided to take the faulty pack apart as they didn't want it back. I was interested to know what was inside. Most of you probably know, but I thought I'd post up some photos anyway.
The top one is clearly bulging.
This measurement should be 43mm
Outer cover, peripheral wrap and end protector removed.
Cell 5 (left to right, was slightly down on voltage (24 mV)
Nothing obvious from what I can see.
The cells are welded together in pairs and then soldered together as a pack. Balance leads were also different lengths, depending upon the position in the pack.
That's about it. I hope that somebody found this interesting.
