Yes, if you weld the motor shaft to the forks and weld on additional strengthening plates

The battery monitoring will be right out. Running a 48v with a LVC set for around 30v will be a very short term affair.
Putting a KW into a small motor is likely to have issues. You may release the magic smoke.
As a high speed bike, is that a disk brake?
It all looks a little suspicious.
Oh and of course you would need private land with no public access etc to go off-roading on your brommy

If it's a KT controller, they don't like 12S -the same with most dual voltage controllers because they can't figure out whether it's a 36v or 48v battery. Also, 27 amps is too much. 15 amps at 12S is about the max.

I run my Brompton's on 24v batteries and a 7amp controllers and they are still going strong after 7 years of use.

You need to explain what all your requirements are for your build before anyone can offer a suggestion that would safely meet them.

I know that the The Electric Transport Shop offer the Boss kit you have quoted and will fit it for you but what is the point if all you succeed in doing is spinning the small 16" front wheel when coefficient of friction of the tyres is overcome by the torque laid down by crude pedal sensor system which is just the equivalent of an on/off switch

If you really need all that power I doubt if the Brompton forks could handle all that torque safely especially after they have been filed out to accept the electric motor shaft, hence the reason for my first post.

Hi Would like to go 10 to 15mph more interested in distance than speed the forks and wheel are fitted I would have thought that TETS would set the controller so that it delivered less power
would a 36V 250W 15a do would like stay with 36v as I have 2 other lipo packs which I use on my other bikes all so got 2 10s 18650 37v 14a batterys bit heavey for a brompton bag can they be made smaller Thanks for any help given mygrumpy001

Mine has a q100 36v 328rpm running 36v 4ah battery. The top speed is 15mph. Controller is s06s and pas 12 magnets version

The Q85 motor from BMSBattery.com, where you can also get the S06S controller, LCD and other stuff from, makes a very good conversion for a Brompton. It's main advantage is the narrower width, so it can more easily be fitted in the forks. It has plenty of torque (enough to spin the front wheel on steep hills) and is much lighter than most of the other options, and, with the sensored sine-wave controller, is pretty smooth and quiet. Best of all, the kit minus battery is only about £150 including duty and shipping!

One more thing, you can get the Q85 in 28 hole version from Elifebike.com, so you can use your original Brompton rim and be able to get your tyre on/off, which is not so easy withe the Sun rim and a Schwalbe marathon Plus puncture resistant tyre.

As Dave suggested it is better to buy the full set as they dont cost much. My battery only weighs 1.1kg and it is MAC Allister 36v battery (you can check it on google but it is out of stock everywhere)

I used to have 36v 10AH lifepo4 around 4 kg but I found it too heavy to in the front.
