Just follow the polls. Labour has 13% lead at the moment. Not because Starmer has said anything interesting but because BJ digs a bigger hole all by himself for himself one week after another.
At the last PMQ, Bruce asked the audience again, if anyone in the audience would speak for BJ. None raised their hand. In the previous week, one put up his hand and defended BJ in a similar way like you do here. So his support in BBCQT goes from 1 to zero despite the selected audience has about 50% voted for BJ last time.

Another PM would certainly entice conservative voters back.
BJ is on the way out, that why's Labour likes him to stay to consolidate their lead.
I was answering OG. Thought I was anyway.. His opinion Johnson being responsible for thousands of deaths.???
But it comes as second nature to disagree with me and pull up spelling mistakes and such.

I found that your prejudice against Labour is blatant, that's why my last post.
Here is the seat prediction, you may find it interesting enough to comment. It is on the wiki page:

It is clear that if a GE is called today, Labour will have a landslide majority.
It's easy to see why conservatives want to replace BJ.

Answering questions that haven't been posed. Well done. I, m not against Labour, just it's current incarnation.
And its says a great deal about your prejudice against both myself and Johnson/Tories to accuse me of prejudice against Labour amidst a thread full of hate against Tories and Johnson. How many on here post without expressing hate towards one or other, from Blonde Bawbag to saying he's personally responsible for deaths of thousands. Not a word about that, but point out the obvious deficiency off Starmer /Labour without resorting to hate language and you are straight onto it.
One of main reasons, if not the main one, country is in such a mess is Labour's utter inability to provide a viable alternative for past decade. Had we had a real alternative Boris and Tories would never have got in power.

But in truth it isn't at all clear.

It takes weeks to organise a GE and polls are notoriously unreliable over time.

Given the public's short attention span and once the Tories wheel out their lie machine, things will change very rapidly:

We are at a good point on Covid at present so the Tory machine will capitalise on that, Boris saving the nation etc. To that will be added the mythical success of leaving the EU, the trade deal with Australia and promises of much more.

Truths will be blended with lies to portray Labour in a very poor light. Corbyn, Marxism and anti semitism will be raked up once again, accusing Starmer of doing nothing about them. As will Labour's dithering about leaving the EU, that leaving still being favoured by a huge swathe of the public. The dithering will be used to say that Labour would have made a shambles of dealing with Covid, costing countless lives, reinforced by the truth of Starmer concentrating on electioneering rather than actual policies. Plus a host of other things their devious minds dream up.

By any election day the picture would have changed radically.

of course the conservatives will use all those arguments but I sense the wind has turned.

There is little difference political between Starmer and Johnson. Both are largely Blairite or Majorite, realistic politics instead of conviction politics like MT.

When you compared John McDonell's spending plan against BJ's spending plan at the last GE, there was 6% difference between them. That is that close. I expect Starmer's economic policy and BJ's will be even closer than 6%, Sunak has already announced that corporation tax will be 25% from 2023 against McDonell's 26%.

CT is the key to gain support from businesses and wealthy donors, without them, you just cannot win because fighting the next general election will cost about £100 on top of £140 millions given to the parties by taxpayers. There is no way to win an election without wealthy donors

All true, these are arguments that work for those like you and I who have an interest in the subject. To most of the public they might just have well have been in Chinese.

They are influenced more by what they have most recently heard than by experiences and opinions shortly before, as the wild swings in polls and elections have so often shown.

Remember the polls and result of the vote to join the EEC, swinging from around 60% against to over 65% for in just six weeks.

Woosh has an ability to count eggs, not chickens and thinks score at half time means game is won. It isn't.
The last 3 months have all been designed to put Johnson in a good light. Folk are beginning to feel Covid is at its end for us and footings have been dug to make that look as if down to Johnson. Both with his almost irrelevant booster campaign, his opening up early,, NHS not being overwhelmed and deaths nothing like those predicted by "experts" . (Fergusson! )
The prep work is all there, if not for Johnson then for some other Tory. And Starmer has actually helped. (playing along with exaggerated severity of Omicron? against every virologist in the world, apart from ours)
Like I said naive is the word. Lots of it about.

we all can remember the headline:
“It’s The Sun Wot Won It.”
Sun headline, 11 April 1992
Blair went to see Murdoch in Australia and the rest is history. Starmer will have to have some big captains of industry and newspapers proprietors in his pocket as soon as.

I don't think it's difficult to do that.
Blair did not try to be different on the economy to John Major and he won in 1997 because he has support of the key Jewish community, celebrities and major donors and if I remember correctly, including Alan Sugar.
Starmer has to keep to Sunak's tax and spending plan, how difficult is that?

He'll have to be another pseudo Tory like Blair to achieve that, so not socialist Labour.
.
True but remember, Blair was seen as the messiah that freed the country from toryism.
It remains to be seen how much socialist Labour voters want to be freed from toryism at the next GE.
I think a lot if not all will accept that Sunak's tax and spending plan is about right and will be satisfied with only a change of the top team.

Totally agree with that. Only long term solution for Labour is to accept country has changed. Offspring of devout Labour voters of 35 years ago now have investments and are more interested in Hargreaves Lansdown than socialism as we knew it.
Ofcourse there is a hardcore of left wing voters but never enough to get current Labour in power.
Not even sure the Labour/Tory distinction is any longer applicable. We, ve seen Tories adopt left wing policies and labour then appear almost redundant.
We are in desperate need of a change to both parties, their leaders and the system that puts them in power. Trouble is the party that gets that power knows full changing system will mean relinquishing that very power they craved.
Really don't think Starmer is the answer but likewise Johnson isn't either.
I'll be honest. I could never vote Labour whilst Starmer is in charge. I don't think I, m alone either.

Indeed, the Labour name is no longer appropriate. In today's world and with our welfare state we are in truth both a socialist and a small "c" conservative country. The Conservative party represent the latter interest and we need a Socialist Party to represent the former.

But of course renaming Labour to Socialist wouldn't work since socialism has been made made a dirty word by Marxist communism, so maybe a leaf out of the continental book and using Social Democrat instead would be more suitable.

Finished that bike but still want a proper kill cord/switch.. In event of a tumble power returns to system once brakes are released, so if bike was on its side with throttle pushed open it could still hurt rider. (was thinking fingers in chain)
The switched brakes, much as fine for road, killing power when braking, don't really offer any further safety... Doesn't anybody make a kill switch (closed circuit when detached) that could replace one of the brakes??? I, d guess anybody building bike for kids would want one... Could make one out of a brake lever?? (jet ski and outboard kill switches are often closed circuit when detached, ie on when detached, they earth the ignition, but wouldn't have correct 3 pin plug(only 2 pins used) for back of Tongshen display??)
Any ideas??

The brake sensor has 2 wires: ground and signal.
To kill the motor, shorten the signal to ground.
You just add a switch if you like between the ground and signal wire.

Perhaps you could offer some data showing exactly how he has killed these thousands of people.
And you can offer some data that says he didn't?, after the pillock just declared victory "it's over" while people are still catching and and dying of it?
And the next version isn't guaranteed to non lethal.
You'll be saying Brexit is a big success next :D

My children move to etoro.
They just set their account to 'copytrader' for the system to copy trades made by their favourite trader or traders. No need to spend time following the news.
