.. not for me it isn't. Its a done deal, ..and we will just ignore and carry one. Note the posturing of Downing Street today in regards to the NI protocol, will all be part of an on going phony war.Remember the real crisis is Brexit?
Which doesn't matter. Some 90% of that 10% don't suffer an "illness" as you put it, they either have no symptoms, only learning they've caught it due to a suspect test, or their symptoms are mild and shrugged off.Flecc, according to the worldometer website about 10% of UK people have had this illness to date.
Ah, Long Covid. The statistics for long covid or for serious long term chronic complaints of lung or heart or cerebral are only developing , but are looking like 10% of the infected and "recovered".
The point we differ on is that I dispute whether those would have extremely mild symptoms ever really "got it". And if there symptoms are so mild whether they even evoked an immune response. I have pointed out a few times that getting tested after the event for specific antibodies , is not in my book conclusive.Which doesn't matter. Ah, Long Covid.
I watched a program about it, a long convoy of women "sufferers", one man.
Like most men I've rarely gone to the doctors since there's rarely anything worth going for. But one thing is very noticeable, that virtually every time the waiting room is full of women and I'm the only man.
A large proportion of women are experts at illness, it's their hobby. If it's on offer they'll get it or imagine have got it and head for the surgery waiting room and more self imposed martyrdom.
I guess this is another of my posts that fails to make me popular.

did you mean specific sequences? most of us have detectable levels of covid antibodies.I have pointed out a few times that getting tested after the event for specific antibodies , is not in my book conclusive.
Most? 51%? 99%?did you mean specific sequences? most of us have detectable levels of covid antibodies.
covid antibodies: ONS figures for England: 88.2%-92.3%Most? 51%? 99%?
I reckon it'll be bad for the person. And, quite possibly more important, what is the impact on the course of a Covid infection in people who have had the tiniest exposure - below whatever threshold of causing disease - if they later get a big enough exposure to usually cause the disease?
This Tory government has definitely been stealing Labour's clothes.Tories - the party of nationalisation of industry.
I'm tempted to ask what will they do for aluminium? have a cooking utensils collection like the "donate your pans to make a Spitfire" WW2 campaign?Tories - the party of nationalisation of industry.

I guess they felt railroaded into it.
That never actually happened. Virtually all the scrap collected by such campaigns was never used, eventually making millionaires of those who cashed in on scrap and war surplus after the war, George Dawson being the most notorious of them.I'm tempted to ask what will they do for aluminium? have a cooking utensils collection like the "donate your pans to make a Spitfire" WW2 campaign?
Actually I agree , and it gives is the chance to point out that should the same thing happen, some Tory donor would find it a nice little earner! That never actually happened. To foil the Germans?I'm tempted to ask what will they do for aluminium? have a cooking utensils collection like the "donate your pans to make a Spitfire" WW2 campaign?
Which takes me back to an early memory of cheese - processed, flavoured. It was in packaging about the same diameter as Dairylea but probably twice as thick. And with something like 16 segments in four or more flavours. Loved them! That was foiled German cheese as it was in Berlin in around 1960.To foil the Germans?
What comedy!Professor Jonathan Van Tam has just said this on the BBC news:
"The idea that Covid is not as serious as given is right".
Nice to get confirmation that I'm right from Professor Chris Whitty's deputy.
He went on th say that it remains serious. Quite right too, just like 'flu it can make one ill or even kill some of the more vulnerable.
.
Well, at least that's one thing I don't need to worry about personally! There just might be a tiny bit of justice in the world:
