Children at 16 should neither be joining army or voting. They cant smoke but it appears they can be trusted with weapons. If anything I, d have thought folk on here would have wanted voting age raised after shambles of last 2 elections and referendum.
Make no mistake Corbyn doesnt want
age reduced for any altruistic reasons, he just sees that age group as more idealistic and more likely to buy his lies than those from Tories.
Anyone permanently living here, legally, EU Citizens or not, should have a vote.
Neither side of our Government at moment can be relied upon to make decision on idealistic grounds. Both will rely on dubious polls, worse statisticians and corrupt reasoning to arrive at who or who should not vote.
Personally dont think 16 year olds should but I see reasoning.

Speaking of dumb, the Daily Mail has a new buzzword for dumbos like Fingers to lap up
"Brexmas" no doubt another example of Cummings at work.
Pathetic, but the simple minded will love it of course, as proved by the Daily Mail

I think we are in for lots of “Let’s get Brexit done” from Johnson between now an Christmas. I’m sick of it already.

The slogan, “Let’s get Brexit done” is of course another Boris Johnson lie, which he is being allowed to get away with. As I’ve said before, his deal is just the starting gun for years of more wrangling, bickering and squandering of money at the expense of the domestic agenda.

This morning’s lavatory paper leads with a headline that we can now vote once and for all on Brexit in the forthcoming GE. Excuses me? How does that work? The Tories could get in on 30% of the vote, with probably a 60% turnout in December. That’s about 20% of the population. Since when was 20% any sort of winning majority? The trouble is, our idiot population will buy it and the “Lets get Brexit done” bullshit.

Can anyone explain why squandering half the time of the latest extension on a GE campaign will advance anything?. As I see it any bills not passed into law by next Tuesday fall. That means the WAB has to be reintroduced. A new Parliament forms a week before Christmas , presumably goes through the rigmarole of a Queens speech opening ,and then goes on Holiday. So now we are back to January 2020,and one calendar month to both Crashout again, and coincidentally the FIRST DAY OF SPRING in the Celtic tradition.
One assumes the current Speaker will be encouraged to remain in post for two extra days...

it's the tories who want it to avoid the amendments to their WAB.
If they get to around 300-320 seats, the conservative party will still be controlled by the 28 members of the ERG, the consequence of that is they'll say we are not paying the divorce bill and UK will fall off the cliff in January.
If the party wins more than 350 seats, then we heading for a planned brexit and have WTO brexit in 2021.
The only way the UK gets a trade deal is to have JC in No 10.
Remainers have lost.

Not quite.

If and its a huge IF Labour get a working majority they will offer a new referendum in March with remain on the ballot.

So yes. Remainers have lost.

I rather thought brexenemas would be a more descriptive term.

Treating the constipation of brexit.

Any clue what Farage will do? - he seems to have been rebuffed by BJ in any deal proffered. Will BP put up their fabled 600 candidates and dilute hard core brexit votes from the Tories....

At this stage I think it will be a low turnout GE and resulting vote will reflect the divisions with no out right majority and parliament will only just about function due to wheeling and dealing between parties & factions. Though like with the referundum it will be interesting how Cummings targets the undecided swingers.
