yes but she still has to publish her tax return and all those sweet selfish little retired xenophobes who voted leave wont like what's in it one little bit
Hush now you're not supposed to know...too late!
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/revealed-how-city-minister-andrea-leadsom-used-controversial-trusts-to-reduce-her-potential-9268469.html
Trust the Independent to do a dirty trick like publishing the truth.
For Shame!
We wont have any more of that when the new Fuhrer is elected, will we?

This reminds me of the New York Mayor who replied to the question
"To what do you owe your success in getting elected?"
With no hint of irony he replied
"Honest Graft"
Then disappeared with $5 million from the city funds.:D
Sorry the Hysterical Laughter Syndrome has gripped me again!"o_O

I,m afraid I,m beginning to have to agree with you on that derf.
Don't get me wrong I,m not doing a u turn. I believe wholehearedly the country could prosper outside eu.
However the absolutely shambolic way it has been handled is making me think either it will never happen or be disastrous if it does. I do think folk panicking has its effect but this and what's happening ( or not happening) is absolutely the responsibility of our government.
No doubt Cameron was well prepared had he won. He,d have known exactly what to do,who to call and which systems to put in place. Likewise Gove, Garage and Johnson had they lost.
Both sides have been so busy "winning" the campaign they forgot what to do if they did.( or didn't in Cameron,s case)
Anybody who has achieved anything to a decent standard, either in sport, commerce or industry knows to plan for best but expect worst. ( the stupid out campaign planned losing but won, and still had no plans)
Neither side had a clue what to do with this outcome. Garage resigns, Gove goes missing, Boris stands down. Cameron resigns. Fecking brilliant. They offered us out but were 5 years from giving it us. Its a shambles.
A month ago Cameron , for sake if his beloved country, could have come on and said he was impartial to in or out and would represent his countries wishes and made plans for either eventuality.
Gove , Johnson and Farage had no " road map" to put in place on winning. Nothing. Cameron had no road map for losing. So now , whilst they scurry about infighting with no leaders we are hobbling a plan together for brexit that's coming a distant second to choosing a party leader. This is what's damaging country. Not a single plan in place for situation we are now in. Absolutely ridiculous.
We should not be blaming brexit intrinsically , or the people for panicking, we should all be asking why offer country something nobody is prepared ( in both senses of word) to give us. The government was in no place to offer a referendum, but they did , and this is what we get. A fecking shambles. Many thanks the whole lot of them.
that's very understanding of you (I mean it) the problem is that brexit was IMHO a very bad way to do a protest vote. but I can see after years of austerity and with a Westminster system not offering a way to take an anti-establishment position (and the establishment being rotten to the core and making the poor pay for the rich) forward this had to happen.

“Those values are, among else, freedom, democracy, respect of human rights including the rights of minorities. So, there must be a really grave risk to one of those in order the EU to use Article 7.”
Actually there is already more than a grave risk to one of those, I'm speaking of respect of human rights including the rights of minorities where we are already in breach according to the EU.

The right of prisoners to vote.

They were most recently denied that fundamental right in both the last general election and the referendum.

So the EU can trigger article 7 any time it wishes.

You lot are going to give yourselves a heart attack!

Although, I must say that this thread is doing an excellent job of keeping the forum police very busy. Just thought that I'd pop in and say 'Hi'. Keep up the good debate. This one is set to run and run I reckon. :)

here's a new description of the obvious really, for those who think this has anything to do with anxiety "inside" UK (it does not, it's how the world sees us)
http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2016/07/05/renewed-sterling-selloff-sends-pound-to-fresh-31-year-low-against-the-dollar/
and why sterling will likely fall, far and hard, and take a lot else with it as inflation and eventually interest rates go up, a lot.
I've reached the happy point where I resort to clichés to stop myself worrying. There isn't that much difference between say a £10k sailboat and a £100k one. true freedom is freedom from want, not desire, etc etc.

My first boat was four milk crates upside down and tied together string with inverted empty Milk bottles in them, to make them float.

Rather like the idea of Brexit, it floated along happily for a short distance with me aboard, then the inevitable happened and water caused the string to fail,
And me to swim back to the bank.

When I got home and related the adventure to my parents, Mother despairingly asked is there any hope for him, will he grow up to be normal.?

Father ( essentially a wise man) shook his head sadly and said unfortunately no, the lad is going to grow up to be an Engineer.:D
Alas he was right!

Got paid in pounds again - down 9% against the dollar...

The kiwi advantage in engineering - we had 44 gallon drum rafts, you could cross the Pacific on one of those! I built my first boat at age twelve from a NZ $22 ply kit, a small fortune at the time. At the farm sale 20 years later it was sold for $50!

sailing is funny that way. one could buy a She31, an old cruiser racer that's way beyond exquisite, for less than £10k, and spend twenty times that much on a bloated Bavaria that does nothing well.

Sounds like they were fun! with rather more stability that mine had, which had the seagoing properties of a big girls blouse.
Mind you I have nothing against big Girl's Blouses in fact the thought brings back many happy memories!

Quotable quotes #1
On the Democratic referendum vote win for Leave.

"The democratic will my arse. The stupidocratic more like."
D'you think he voted leave?

Quotable Quotes #2
On planning

"
The Cabinet minister in charge of leaving the European Union has defended the Government’s policy of doing absolutely no contingency planning for Brexit ahead of the referendum.
Oliver Letwin, who was appointed by David Cameron to lead the so-called “Brexit unit” the morning after the result, said it would not have been possible to do significant planning before the vote took place."
And we can't really now without someone pulling the chain on article 50 can we?
Spike Milligan was right
"We haven't got a plan so nothing can go wrong." is the official Government reaction to this emergency
Quotable Quotes #3 (One of my very own, as an impartial observer)
On the leadership contest.

They don't need a new leader, they need Brain implants on the NHS and to return the ones they have to the poor Gerbils that donated them.
Then they will be able to get back to running around in pointless circles too, as Nature intended.
Quotable Quote#4
On ignorance

"Brexit has revealed how ignorant the educated are about modern Britain. It has also revealed just how ignorant the uneducated are about absolutely everything. "
Guess which side that person was on!
Quotable Quote #5
On Brexit on article 50 not necessarily being one way

"French government legal service has informed the French government that the UK would be entitled to rescind a notice to withdraw even though it had invoked article 50."
Hmmmm!
But would terms acceptable to a Tory Government be acceptable to the voters? Who knows now?

I am worried.
So commercial property is about to crash, followed by contagion, and an outflow of foreign investment. Naively thought they'd wait for the dust to settle and article 50 to be forgotten, but no such luck

There is an interesting legal challenge to the referendum itself, the U.K. Is a 'family of 4 nations',the constitution of each state is a seperate country,so for the referendum to be effective Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland would have had to individually voted to leave,we know that they voted to remain.
