Do you reckon araldite will hold it ? I'm very dubious

A little bit of fibreglass cloth on the outside soaked in araldite will strengthen it a lot. Once the araldite has cured properly, paint it black.

Excellent - I don't have fibreglass cloth but I made a "poor mans" version

Cloth duct tape soaked in araldite

Held just fine for today's commute

I'd carry a bungee, in case it comes off again.

Just so you know if wasn't the whole bracket that fell off on the day - the main part which is Allen bolted to the frame was solid but the base plastic section failed causing battery to slip down and out

Kristins you could try one of those ties they use to tie young trees to stakes, there are diffrentt typ the rubber ones are best,

Although the poor mans fibreglass seems to be holding well but only done 40miles
