Bosch Powertube batteries with various sockets

Someone posted not long ago showing pics of their old battery and its similarly specced replacement but the sockets were incompatible.

If anyone can point me to that thread I'd be really grateful, I've done a looong search.

A friend has a Trek eMTB and he decided to buy a 2nd battery, a Powertube 625 (£600 - eek!) Anyway, imagine his dissapointment to find that whilst the batteries intially looked the same, the connector plates at the base of the batteries were a different shape and had different connector pin...

That was my post. Further to that another friend with the 625Wh battery showed an interest in my battery (which is for sale) - they had the non-smart version but their battery connector, although the same, was oriented 90deg so of course not compatible.

The part numbers of the batteries were just one digit different.

The one I'm selling for the bargain price of £300 (unused, never plugged in) is pn 0-275-007-544.

Nightmare As far as I can see mechanical indexing could be used to pair the right battery with a model of bike, and these awkward connectors only serve to tie the consumer to the brand.

the bms uses canbus comms the new smart batts would not work even if you changed the connector because the bms wont talk to the non smart motors.
